Emergency Medical Services (EMS)A licensed ALS Ambulance service located at 140 Library Drive in Port St. Joe, FL provides 24 hour emergency coverage for Port St. Joe and the surrounding area. Gulf EMS does this with one fulltime ALS Unit and a daytime ALS Unit running approximately 2,000 calls a year. Gulf EMS supplements this coverage with 3 ALS Units located at Fire Departments throughout the service area to be manned by on-call personnel.
Gulf County EMS has a mission to provide pre-hospital care and transportation of sick & injured persons, preventig unnecessary disability and loss of life.
The scopes of duty required of Paramedics with Gulf EMS include additional training in the appication & interpretation of 12 Lead ECG's, Rapid Sequence Induction and PEP (Pediatric Emergency for Paramedics).
