Human Resources / Risk ManagementThe Human Resources Department is responsible for the overall administrative and technical functions and activities needed to maintain an effective recruitment, selection, and benefits program. Development, implementation and coordination of related policies, procedures and training opportunities are ongoing priorities. The Human Resources Department plans and directs personnel administration for all departments of the Board of County Commissioners, including labor relations, benefits, salary administration, recruitment, selection and training; as well as ensure competitive classification and pay plan programs and compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws on employment issues. - Gulf County is an Equal Opportunity Employer
Risk Management is responsible for administering the County's insurance program for workers' compensation, general liability, automobile liability and property damage claims. In this capacity, the division helps to determine the proper mix of loss control (safety and environmental), risk transfer (purchase of insurance) and risk retention (self-insurance). The division is committed to running the most effective and efficient risk management program possible. | Some of Our Duties |  | - Administering workers' compensation and liability claims
- Purchasing various insurance policies
- Reviewing contracts and lease agreements to protect the County from potential liability
- Safety, environmental and loss prevention program development, training, inspections, audits and assessments.
